Mohamed Salah has laughed off the suggestion he could be sold after Liverpool fans were sent into meltdown by the idea the Reds should replace the Egyptian.

The forward has been Liverpool’s talisman since joining from Roma in 2017 and has established himself as one of the best players in the world at Anfield.

Before the coronavirus pandemic forced football to be suspended, Liverpool were on the verge of lifting their first ever Premier League title, with Salah scoring 16 times in the league.

Despite scoring 91 times in just 144 appearances for Liverpool, Sky Sports asked the question on social media if Salah should be sold.

Angry Liverpool fans reacted with a resounding no in the comments section, before Salah stepped in to pour cold water on the suggestion.

Salah replied with three laughing emoji faces, much to the delight of Liverpool supporters.

Like the rest of the Liverpool squad, Salah has been waiting to find out the fate of the 2019/20 season.

Salah has been keeping fit at home, but may soon be asked to return to training at Melwood.

The Reds are 25 points clear at the top of the table and Premier League chiefs are eager to see the completion of the campaign rather than declare the season over.

The Netherlands, Belgium and France have already voided their league campaigns, but the Premier League are pushing ahead with their ‘Project Restart’ plans.

The idea is to play the remaining games behind closed doors over the summer at eight neutral venues.
